Thoughts Before Reading

I received this in one of my Book of the Month subscriptions a few months ago and I was so excited to get it. Even though I was so excited to get this book I kept pushing it off and never picked it up. I'll admit I was a little bit intimidated, this book is a CHUNKER! Plus I didn't want to pick this book up and be disappointed with it. It sounds like it is going to be a 5-star book for me and it's been awhile since I've read one of those. I've read the first three chapters already, so I'm doing this a bit different than usual. I can already tell it is going to be different POV between the three girls and I can't wait to see how each of the stories go. I also feel like my heart is going to get ripped out, because of how that prequel went. I definitely got some Nicholas Spark vibes and let me tell you his books are a hit and a miss for me, but the ones I love leave me ugly crying. So let's get this going!

Thoughts After Reading

This book was very intense! I think I always say this is one of the longest books that I just couldn't put down. I have to say I love having Book of the Month, it really helps me get out of the books I'm comfortable reading. I did have a hard time getting connected to Avery's parts of the book but as the story went on I still became attached to the story. This is also one of the few books that really had me crying the whole time, even though it is a very slow build. If you like hard hitting historical books I feel like this would be a really good book for you.
