Book of the Month
This month I was lucky enough to get two books free plus my book of the month selection. I know I got one credit due to the fact that I already had or read the book of the yearbooks so I reached out to customer service with Book of the Month and was able to get a credit instead of picking one of the options. The second one I can't even tell you why I got it free. I went to check out and it said that one of my books was free so I went back and added another book to my cart. So let's get into the three books that I picked out.
The first book was the pick of the month, and that is You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. This book I'm really hesitant about. I loved The Wife Between Us so much that I listened to it as an audiobook, I read it right after, I've given to people as presents last year, and I can't even tell you how many times I recommended that book. I just plain out loved it. Their second book, 'An Anonymous Girl,' I really didn't care much for it. I didn't hate the book, but I think I was just so excited about it that I read it as soon as I could and then I was left so defeated since that's all I got. The book itself was just so boring and drawn out. That being said I did pick up You Are Not Alone, this is the third book from this duo and I've decided that this is going to be the make it or break it for me. Are they going to continue being this magical duo in my head and stay being insta-buys or are they just not my cup of tea and A Wife was just a fluke that I loved it so much? I have an author that I don't always love his work but I still always buy his books, maybe this is going to be the same situation.
The first add-on book that I knew for sure I was going to get since I knew I was going to have an extra credit this month is Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. This book is something that I've been curious about for a little while now and I keep getting more curious about it the more I hear about it so I figured since I have a free add-on I need to take advantage of it with this book. My second, surprise, add-on I had a little more thought into it. I really didn't have a plan for another book this month and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it so I added a Sager book. I went with what I think is his first book, Final Girls. I haven't read a Riley Sager book before so I decided that I should read the one that started everyone's love for him and I can't wait to jump into it. I'm really excited to read all three of them.
